How do I contact the Unsilenced archive?
Write to contact@silencedhistory.org. One inbox handles everything: factual corrections, source suggestions, translation offers, republication requests and academic or press enquiries. Sourced corrections are answered within about seven days and recorded publicly in the corrections log.

What to put in a correction
The fastest corrections are the most boring ones: a URL, a sentence, a source. A message that contains all four items below is normally resolved in a single exchange.
- The page URL and, if the page is long, the section heading above the claim.
- The exact sentence you are disputing, quoted, so there is no ambiguity about which figure or date is at issue.
- What the correct version is — not only that something is wrong, but what it should say.
- A citation: a monograph with page number, a peer-reviewed article, a primary archival document, or a named dataset. Screenshots of other websites are not sources.
Where credible scholarly estimates disagree, this archive publishes the lower bound of the majority range rather than the highest defensible number. That rule is set out in the methodology, and a correction that simply prefers a higher figure will usually be answered with it.
What happens after you write
Step 01 — triage
The claim and your source are read against the citation already attached to the page.
Step 02 — verification
We check the original source, not a summary of it. If the two sources genuinely conflict, the dispute is described on the page rather than silently resolved.
Step 03 — publication
Substantive changes are made in every language edition, dated, and added to the corrections log. Typographical fixes are made silently.
Republication & translation
Pages may be translated, mirrored, or excerpted under a non-commercial attribution license. Write before large-scale republication so we can share clean source files, image credits and the current wording of contested figures.
Press & academic
For interviews, citations in academic work, or invitations to contribute, mention the deadline in the subject line. Each chapter also carries a ready-made citation block at the foot of the page.
Archives & images
If you hold a public-domain photograph, colonial-era report or map that belongs in the archive, send the provenance record with it. We do not publish AI-generated imagery for historical facts.
Teachers & students
Classroom use is free. Tell us the level you teach and we can point to the chapters, timelines and source lists that fit it best.
What we don't do
- — No paid placements, sponsored content, or affiliate links.
- — No debate-bait DMs. If you disagree with a sourced claim, send a counter-source.
- — No private data on readers. The site uses no third-party trackers.
- — No unattributed use of other people's scholarship; every figure names its source.
Common questions
How do I report a factual error on Unsilenced?
Email contact@silencedhistory.org with the page URL, the exact sentence you are disputing, and a citation — a book with page number, a peer-reviewed article, an archival document, or a dataset. Corrections backed by a source are reviewed within seven days and logged publicly on the corrections page.
Can I republish or translate pages from this archive?
Yes, for non-commercial use with attribution and a link back to the original page. Write to us before large-scale republication or a full translation so we can supply clean source text, image credits and the current version of any disputed figure.
Does Unsilenced accept sponsorship, advertising or paid placement?
No. There are no ads, sponsored chapters, affiliate links or paid citations, and no institutional funding that could condition a conclusion. This is stated in the methodology so readers can judge the archive on its sources.
How long does a reply take?
Sourced corrections: usually within seven days. Republication, translation and academic requests: within two weeks. Unsourced disagreements are read but not always answered individually.
